Colleen Terrell Comer lives and works in Mobile, AL.

I make humorous, research based work in many different materials. Right now mostly figures and junk food. Drawing from the carnivalesque, absurd realities of contemporary life, my work re-centers the female figure within a parody of art history and popular culture. These narratives challenge historical ideas around womanhood, self-image, and feminine power in the context of every day calamities/banalities.
